Unidentified flying objects are not necessarily alien
Just because there is no plausible explanation for a certain event, that doesn’t necessarily mean that extraterrestrial intelligence was involved. There are many different phenomena that specialists have yet to understand. Seth Shostak is not sure what the AATIP infrared videos show, but he doesn’t think that they include cosmic visitors. He says that one-third of all the New York City murders are unexplained, and yet, we don’t blame aliens for them.
Still, over the centuries, a lot of people have been spotting unidentified objects in the sky. Around the middle of the twentieth century, mysterious sightings have seen a significant increase. This was probably due to the Cold War, which made people look at the sky with anxiety.
