Gypsies come from Romania
Although Romania is famous for vampires and Count Dracula, which may or may not be real, there is another myth surrounding this country. Many people believe Romanian people are gypsies and that gypsies originate from this part of the world. In reality, Romanian people are European people and speak a romance language closely related to Italian. Gypsies are nomad people who immigrated to Europe from India about 1,500 years ago. With a population of 3%, gypsies are considered a minority in Romania.
