Apple cider vinegar is clearly the new black. Even though it’s been around for a long, long time, celebrities are extolling its virtues like it was just discovered yesterday.
From Hilary Duff to Gabby Douglas to Katy Perry, stars are drinking swigs of it first thing in the morning (diluted with water, preferably, or it can damage your teeth) or using it as part of their skin care routine (similar to an astringent) or even cleaning their house with it.
So what else can ACV (apple cider vinegar) do to improve your health (or clean your windows)?
Mole, wart or skin tag remover. Simply put a few drops of ACV directly on the offending skin issue and put a bandage over it. Leave it on overnight. Still there? Keep it up until you see a change. But be careful not to get ACV on the surrounding skin; it can burn.
Sunburn cooler. Dilute ACV with water (one part to one part) and soak a washcloth in it. Dab the dilution on your reddened skin. You’ll feel an almost immediate relief.
All purpose cleaner for the household. Find an empty spray bottle and fill it half with ACV and the other half with water. Use it as you would any other spray cleaner, for countertops, windows or bathrooms. It naturally sanitizes!
Ant Repellant. Ants hate ACV. Use that spray bottle filled with half ACV/half water and spray around the perimeters of your home or directly on the offending critters.
Drain cleaner. Stop using super toxic drain cleaners and use this all-natural approach instead. Simply add ACV and baking soda and your pipes will be clean in no time!
Laundry brightener. Instead of using toxic bleach, try a half-cup of ACV poured directly into your washing machine. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the results!
Ear mite killer. For those with pets, a 50/50 ACV and water rinse works wonders. Put the mixture in a dropper bottle and massage into your pet’s ears. Do it again in a week if the mites persist.
Dental rinse. Use a 50/50 ACV and water mixture as a rinse before you brush your teeth for added cleanliness and brightness.
