The American Academy of Pediatrics advises that children under the age of 1 should never drink fruit juice, and while older ones can have some, the consumption should be greatly limited. Sports drinks and sodas should be completely avoided because they contain brominated vegetable oil which can cause bromine toxicity. Instead, choose to give your kids a vitamin-rich fruit smoothie with fizzy water or milk.
